BAMANA are a Mande ethnic group native to west Africa. Primarily southern mail, Ghana, guinea, Burkina Faso, and Senegal. This floor lamp derives its inspiration from the headdress figure of the BAMANA tribe. This headdress figure features a zoomorphic form with an elongated multisegmented zig-zag body vertical orientation with a humanoid head and two long zoomorphic ears. The headdress is used by the dancers during the ceremonial function of a diseased ancestor. 

BAMANA floor lamp was created as a symbol of cultural celebration.

 

PRODUCT FEATURES

BAMANA floor lamp is made of metal and polished deep brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The floor lamp directly mimics the ceremonial headdress of the BAMANA people. illumination happens on the face of the zoomorphic form as well as control button for attached to the base form.
