NUNA people are a subgroup of the Gurunsi people in southern Burkina Faso, and Ghana. The NUNA people speak the Nuni language. This armchair draws its inspiration from the currency bracelet worn by the NUNA people. NUNA bracelets were modelled as anklets usually worn around the ankle as a display of wealth, achievement and status by both men and women in the community. This bracelet features a ring form with 8 spiky extensions on the ring form. These anklet currencies were used for major but rear transactions, as well as exchanged during marriage ceremonies.

NUNA armchair was created as a symbol of wealth and societal status.

PRODUCT FEATURES

NUNA armchair is made of metal, wood, polished deep brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The chair directly mimics the bracelet form of the NUNA people in its design.
