AKITENG means cow in Dinka language of the Dinka ethnic group of Sudan. The cows or cattle is a very important asset to the Dinka tribe it is a symbol of wealth and status cows and cattle can often be used for dowry payment and other mode of settlement. The AKITENG ottoman mimics the forms of the Dinka headrest used by the Dinka warriors.

AKITENG ottoman is made of wood, polished deep brass with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. the ottoman features 12 legs finished with brass and tribal scars carrying the spread form that mimics the cow horn on top as seen with the Dinka headrest.
