BAMBARA are a Mande ethnic group native to west Africa primarily in southern mail, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia and ivory coast. This chair draws its inspiration from the sophisticated door locks of the BAMBARA people. This door lock represents figures from the origin of African science of the universe of the ethnic group. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The chair embodies the sophisticated door lock forms for its design, for both the chair stand as well as the upholstered seat.
