ISIHLANGU is a combat or war shield used by the Zulu people of southern Africa during the Anglo Zulu war. The shield is usually hand crafted by the Zulu tribesmen in KwaZulu natal. The authentic Zulu shield are made with Nguni cowhide. Zulu or Nguni are cattle indigenous to southern Africa and are used in much of Zulu life. Zulu shield perfected by king shaka was seen to have medicinal and magical powers giving the warrior strength and protection. Zulu shield is currently used for ceremonial and decorative purposes.

ISIHALANGU divider is made of wood, polished deep brass with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. the divider mimics the form of the ISIHALANGU shield in its design. featuring two-fold steel forms of equal hight, with the ISIHALANGU shield stacked to meet the fold forms at the top.
