NGONI is a tribe in southern Africa that spans across South Africa, Swaziland, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi the reason for the wide spread of the NGONI tribe was as a result of the Zulu wars. This NGONI dining table draws its inspiration from the vessel used by the NGONI people. The surface of the vessel and cover has been filled with deeply incised lines of rounded and soft marks that run in close parallel line, following the overall shape of the vessel. This dramatic decorative surface program is distinctive characteristic of the works in the school of NGONI sculpture.

NGONI dining table is made of metal, wood, glass and polished deep brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The dining table directly mimics the shape of the NGONI vessel for its base form, embraced with glass table top.
