DINKA tribe are a Nilotic ethnic group native to South Sudan, they leave mostly along the Nile. This armchair draws its inspiration from the beaded corset of the DINKA tribe. This beaded garment was used to communicate characteristics such as gender, age, wealth, and ethnic affiliation, the red and black pattern indicates that the person is between the age 15 to 25, the decoration of cowries along with the extreme hight of the back marks that the wearer as someone of considerable wealth, the addition of fur skirt is significant. As highly priced commodities, beads are a sign of wealth and status among the DINKA people.

PRODUCT FEATURES

DINKA armchair is made of wood, metal and polished deep brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. the chair mimics the shape of the DINKA beaded garment in its design.
