EDO are a tribal ethnic group in Nigeria. the EDO people speal a language called Bini. the EDO people are a descendant of the founders of the Benin kingdom. The EDO headboard was inspired by the pillars as seen in the entrance to the king’s palace and shrine houses. the form features tapering triangles stacked on each other to complete the form with wonderful patterned motifs.
EDO headboard is a symbol of kingship.
PRODUCT FEATURES
EDO headboard is made of wood, polished deep brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The headboard directly mimics the tapering form of the Benin pillars for its upholstery and finished with brass and tribal scarification.
