FULANI OR FULA is an ethnic group in the Sahara, Sahel and west Africa, widely spread across 19 countries in Africa. Algeria, Chad, Cameroon, central Africa republic, Burkina Faso, Benin, Gambia, Ghana, guinea Bissau, ivory coast, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Serria Leone, Sudan, South Sudan, Togo. The FULA suspended light was inspired by the sophisticated hairstyle of the Fulani women. The FULANI tribal women are known to have long hair, which is seen as a symbol of femininity and beauty. The hairstyle is split into five sections and braiding it is a ritual, two part of the braid is adorned with jewellery, rich stones and coins as well as other ornament, another part is the braids are the oval woven protruding cornrow at the front and back which is the most iconic attraction of the hairstyle.

FULA suspended light is made of metal, and polished deep brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. This light directly mimics the sophisticated hairstyle of the FULANI women. The illumination happens at the tinted glazed center of the form.
