GURUNSI are a set of related groups inhabiting north and southern and northern Ghana as well as central Burkina Faso. This armchair derived its inspiration from the bronze bracelets worn by the GURUNSI people. It is a C- shape cuff bracelets casted in bronze and decorated with tringle, plaited rope and motifs. This bracelet is usually worn around the wrist as a display of wealth, achievement and status by both men and women in the community.
GURUNSI armchair was created as a symbol of wealth and societal status.
PRODUCT FEATURES
GURUNSI armchair is made of metal, wood, polished deep brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The chair directly mimics the bracelet form of the GURUNSI people in its design.
