ASHANTI is an Akan ethnic group or modern-day Ghana. AHANTI people developed the Ashanti empire along the lake volta of Gulf guinea. This mirror draws its inspiration from the Akan stool used by the AHSANTI people. This stool features the adinkra symbol of Nyame. The legend goes that the stool descended from the sky in the 17th century representing an earthly seat of power divined by the spirit. It became a symbol of ASHANTI power and wealth. This Akan stool of this nature with ram horns at the base symbolises strength and humanity. The African proverb that says ‘’The strength of the ram lies in its horn’’.
