MAMBILA people of Nigeria live on the MAMBILA plateau in Sardauna government area of Taraba state Nigeria and a fraction also on the other side of the plateau in Cameroon close to the Ndom plain. This dining table was inspired by the war shield of the Mambila people. This shield are woven from reed or sedge and were used in warfare both between MAMBILA villages and with raiders from outside such as the Fulani who raided MAMBILA plateau for slaves in the 19th century and also the Chamba before them .

MAMBILA mirror was created as a symbol of protection.
