NDEBELE are an ethnic group in south Africa. The NDEBELE women are well known for their tradition of creating elaborate beadwork of all sort and painting of the walls of their homes both interior and exterior with strong bright coloured geometric design. This table lamp was inspired by the NDEBELE attire. the attire consists of a beaded doughnut looking forms around the neck, ankle and wrist accompanied with colourful aprons as well as beaded wraparound skirts for women. The colours of the NDEBELE people are red, yellow, gold, sky blue, green, and sometimes pink.
NDEBELE table lamp was created as a symbol of cultural creativity.
PRODUCT FEATURES
NDEBELE table lamp is made of metal, wood, fabric shader and polished brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The table lamp directly mimics the beaded doughnut looking forms of the NDEBELE attire, illumination happens inside the doughnut form.
