OPA-ORERE is a called mother bird staff in Yoruba language of Nigeria. This table lamp draws its inspiration from the staff used by the by the staff used by the Yoruba chief priest. This staff was used as a symbol of office and also an alter to the divination God. The staff is used as walking sticks by the chief priest during ceremonial functions and outings with the king or queen. The staff features 2 to 3 bell positions that rings during movement and a bird motif attached to the top. the chief priest usually ensures that the staff stays erect in other to receive full blessings from God. When not in use, it is stuck into the ground at the entrance to the chief priest’s house.

The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The table lamp directly mimics the shape of the OPA-ORERE in its design.
