OZO is a term used for titled men or chiefs among the Igbo people of Nigeria. This table lamp draws its inspiration from the shape of the OZO cap. This cap is traditionally worn by titled men in Igbo land. This cap been worn implies that the wearer is a living spirit and an ancestor. The cap is usually red with a feather placed on one folded side of the cap. The wearer becomes the moral conscience of the community and is seen to be fair adjudicator in cases of disputes within the community. Most Igbo communities in Nigeria rely on OZO members for leadership.

The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars.
