TOPOSA are an ethnic group living in South Sudan. The TOFOSA people traditionally lived by herding cattle, sheep and goats and in the past were also involved in ivory trades. the headboard was inspired by the shape of the headrest used by the TOPOSA tribe. the headrest was used has wooden pillows to sleep as well as protecting the elegant hairstyles of men and women. The headrest is specially designed in consideration to a person sleeping position, comfortability of handling and carrying. as well as a person’s societal rank and status.
TOPOSA headboard was created as a symbol of individual status.
PRODUCT FEATURES
TOPOSA headboard is made of wood, polished deep brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The headboard embodies the form and shape of the TOPOSA headrest using the curved neckrest the stand as well as the leather handler in its design.
