MBOLE are an ethnic group of about 150,000 people living in southwest Kisangani in the DR Congo. This table lamp was inspired by the copper currency of the MBOLE people. This MBOLE currency were modelled as anklets usually worn around the ankle as a display of wealth, achievement and status by both men and women in the community. These anklet copper currencies were used for major but rear transactions, as well as exchanged during marriage ceremonies.

PRODUCT FEATURES
MBOLE table lamp is made of metal, polished brass engraved with tribal scarification. The scarification involves the use of both industrial and manual welding techniques and science to embody the tribal scars. The table lamp features the anklet currency stacked on 2 levels with one placed in an upright position as a shader with illumination on the inside.
